Traffic Reporter Raps A Tribe Called Quest to Honor Phife Dawg

Man, what can we say about the passing of A Tribe Called Quest’s Phife Dawg that hasn’t already been said? For a man that has said so much over the course of his life and career, all we can really do is hang our heads in silence as we remember him.

However, one fan took his tribute to the next level. Atlanta reporter Mark Arum certainly was clearly a huge fan and paid tribute to Taylor’s passing during a live broadcast of the news.

During his traffic reports on Atlanta’s WSB-TV 2, Arum peppered in lyrics from ATCQ songs without skipping a beat. The rest of the news crew seemed in sync as Arum seamlessly threw to and from traffic updates with lines from “Award Tour,” “Check The Rhime,” “Oh My God,” and “Jazz.”

Though its hard to adequately express gratitude for a beloved artist when they pass, but Arum did an excellent job. He certainly felt Phife’s impact and used his position as a newscaster to brighten an otherwise sullen day and honor the fallen rapper.

If you’re anything like us, in the coming days you may put on A Tribe Called Quest as a tribute. We urge you not to keep those memories to yourself and share them with us below. Maybe you will brighten someone’s day, too.
