Want a recap of what we had on the Nerdist Podcast Network this week? Okay, well, we had FOUR Nerdist Podcast episodes this week, including:
*Will Forte, returning to promote The Last Man on Earth, and the discussion covered the effect of cell phones on genitals, bee death, MacGruber, wealth, politics, social media, and how working on Last Man has affected his life.
*Robin Lord Taylor, the proto-Penguin on Fox’s Gotham. Robin talked about working on The Walking Dead, growing up gay and artistic in small-town Iowa, his relationship with Billy Eichner, finding his inner Oswald Cobblepot, and meeting his husband on an audition for a Frito-Lay Stax commercial, which is where everybody meets their mate, right?
*Dave Holmes, who reminisced about the old MTV days (Chris and Dave didn’t work together but are both members in good standing of the MTV Host Alumni Association), including the “I Wanna Be a VJ” contest (and losing to Jesse Camp), being openly gay at MTV, intolerance, and his career. Also, there was a clown involved, and they talk about the MTV Beach House, which was down the street from my house one year, apropos of nothing.
*Eddie Pepitone, making a return appearance to talk about dreams, therapy, maintenance, distractions and multitasking, and life on the road, which is what Eddie’s doing right now, heading to the U.K. this month.
More: Our own Gerry Duggan, writer of Deadpool and other comics, talked about change in the fictional world with Kumail and Emily on The Indoor Kids. Gerry offered some information about his next project, a comic series called 1872 that mashes up the old West with Marvel characters, and he talked about working on Attack of the Show, playing D&D with Chris Hardwick, and much more. And Emily devises some marketing for shampoo, because why not.
Actress Andrée Vermeulen made it weird on You Made It Weird, and the co-star of the upcoming TBS comedy Angie Tribeca discusses “ball bras,” veganism, grandmother nicknames, and some serious stuff about her father’s cancer and more dark matters.
More guests: Mary Birdsong (Reno 911, The Descendants) joined Janet on The JV Club. J.M. DeMatteis and Kevin Maguire talked Justice League International on Nerdist Comics Panel. Comic Nate Craig issued fact-based information with Razzle and Dan on Today We Learned. And Smosh Games’ Joshua Ovenshire visited Bizarre States to talk about working as a paranormal investigator.
