This LEGO Marriage Proposal Was Made With Love

Everything is awesome with LEGOs, but sometimes even “awesome” fails to adequately convey the power of those little plastic construction toys. For one couple in England, a LEGO marriage proposal has already given them a life-changing moment even before it went viral!

Via BBC, Ben Anderson collaborated with a young student named Morgan Spence to create a LEGO proposal for Anderson’s girlfriend, Kirsten Dally. Now, clearly most of the work was done by Spence, who has already made a name for himself as a LEGO filmmaker on his YouTube channel. Spence took two months to create the stop-motion animated video, which included custom LEGO figures for both Anderson and Dally. Anderson contributed the voiceover for his LEGO avatar and shared the romantic and intimate moments from his relationship with Dally, which were immortalized in the short.

Anderson arranged for the video to play before a screening of Jason Bourne in Birmingham on August 6, and Spence’s video includes a few clips of Dally’s initial reaction and her subsequent acceptance of his proposal. Of course this story has a happy ending, but it’s not quite over yet. During a recently posted interview with BBC, Dally noted that the eventual wedding will probably be LEGO-themed, after it was suggested that they hold the ceremony at LEGOland.

According to Spence, he is inundated with requests, but he did this one “for the story.” After seeing the rest of Spence’s LEGO videos, we’re fairly convinced that he’s got a long career in animation ahead of him. LEGO would be crazy not to give this man a job!
