The last time you went out for a crab or lobster dinner, did you just cavalierly toss the shells in a bucket, disposing of them without a second thought? And did you realize then that you were wasting valuable construction material? It seems the lobster is not the only one whose face should be red right about now.
Gundam model kits may seem like a challenge to the average toy robot collector, but to seasoned builders of “gunpla” (Gundam plastic toys), more challenges are needed. After all, the toys have the audacity to come with instructions. Customizing and making them better is the next step, and a builder who apparently goes under the alias of “wet rag” has collected all the chitin necessary to make a crustacean creation. Not to be shellfish, he has shared it with the world. We have a selection of images below, but you can see them all on Facebook, or, if you’re willing to register an account at Japanese-language site NicoVideo.jp, you can watch a video. Sanding down the parts and patterning them on an existing set, he has made a rock…no, it wasn’t a rock…it was a ROCKIN’ LOBSTER (bot)! May he never face a cocktail sauce kaiju, which would be the death of him.
We really, really hope wet rag lived up to his handle and washed the shell parts thoroughly first. The smell of the ocean is fine on the beach, but not so nice when it lingers like a rotting fish corpse in your home for days.
What would you make a toy robot out of, if you had the skills? Dazzle us with the possibilities below.
