In a galaxy far, far, away, LEGO has revealed some Star Wars film posters that are a bit blockier than the original ones. Just in time for the Star Wars Celebration convention going on in Anaheim, CA, LEGO has released a Lego Star Wars poster for each of the six films. Each poster recreates an iconic scene from the corresponding film. Of course, each is an adorable yet accurate depiction of each film, and dare we say, some even improve on the original posters.
The Empire Strikes Back, arguably the best film in the original trilogy, features a Lego version of Darth Vader and Lord Palpatine, looking as menacing (yet still adorable) as ever. Cuteness is the running theme with these posters despite the depiction of epic battles and huge battle cruisers. The only thing missing is the Death Star, either one of them, which is still one of the larger Lego sets.
Lego has had a great relationship with all things Star Wars, releasing plenty of Lego games and even Star Wars themed block sets, so it is no surprise that they are joining the celebration. The world is much better place because of it as well. For the most part, it seems like the Legos in the posters come from their real life building sets, making it that much more enticing to go out and enjoy both Star Wars and Legos.
There is never such a thing as too much Star Wars, so despite the fact that new films are on their way along with some new games, wouldn’t it be great to get a remaster version of all the old films done in Lego? Lucas never had a problem with going back and adding more CGI, so why not go all out with the toy brand? The Lego Movie is proof enough that an animated film can be excellent. I don’t think we’re alone in saying that we would love to see the movies redone with Legos.
