Remember on Pushing Daisies, the character that Lee Pace played was supposed to be the world’s greatest pie-maker or something? Well, thanks to the folks at The Laughing Sqid, I think we now know of a pie-maker in the real world that has him beat. Ladies and germs, I introduce you to the work of one Jessica Leigh Clark-Bojin, proprieter of the website Pies Are Awesome.
Jessica has taken her love of making pies and combined them with her love of all things nerdy, and has created a collection of amazing pie designs that are inspired by all aspects of pop culture. Her entire series of pies, which each include step-by-step instructions, are available to view on her Pies Are Awesome website and on Instagram.
So what kind of awesomeness can you expect to see when parousing her pie designs? There’s a James Bond 007 inspired pie named “Live and Let Pie,” as well Bruce Willis as John McLane in (what else) “Pie-Hard.” (clearly, Jessica Leigh Clark-Bojin loves puns as much as pie. Some of these are worthy of my dad). She’s also got pies based on Neil Gaiman’s Sandman characters, the Predator, the art of Alien creator H.R. Giger, H.P. Lovecrafts’s ancient god Cthulhu, and even Jabba the Hutt.
Real world figures who get the royal pie treatment are eccentric scientist Nikola Tesla, and even our dearly departed rock legend Prince gets a pie honoring him. She also has a pie with a poop emoji on it for some reason, although I’m not sure why anyone would want to eat that, but to each their own. You can see a large collection of her pie images in the Instagram post below:
