If we didn’t know better, we’d think Jack White was turning into quite the foodie. First, his beloved guacamole recipe was shared with the entire world and, more recently, he released the video for his latest single, “That Black Bat Licorice.”
Stop making us hungry, dude!
However, in a move that doesn’t appear to have anything to do with sustenance, the rock ‘n’ roll icon announced his next contribution to Record Store Day, which will be the first vinyl pressing of The White Stripes 2005 album, Get Behind Me Satan.
The LP will be released April 18 on White’s Third Man Records. It will be two discs, one red and the other white vinyl. According to RollingStone.com, “The packaging will also feature a new lenticular gatefold jacket — which transitions between the original cover featuring Jack and Meg White, and a recreation with two different models — and new artwork inspired by the original promotional version of the album.”
Fans can sneak a peek at the record’s new artwork in this wacky promo.
This year marks the 10th birthday of Get Behind Me Satan and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate the album’s anniversary. The RSD package is a limited pressing that will be available at Third Man’s Nashville store, as well as other retailers participating in Record Store Day. Later this year, the album will be released with its original artwork on black vinyl.
