The Poster Posse Takes on BATMAN’S 75th Anniversary

Batman is celebrating his 75th anniversary this year and, to think, Bruce Wayne doesn’t look a day over 40. In order to help celebrate the occasion, Blurppy’s focused their latest Poster Posse project on the Caped Crusader. The Poster Posse is a group of talented artists who make striking and creative fan posters for various characters and films. They recently tackled the band of outlaws starring in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

For Batman’s 75th anniversary, Blurppy released five phases of posters. It appears to be their biggest poster project yet. The art is inspired by Batmans (Batmen?) from every medium: comic books, various animated series, film, and television. The superhero detective has been around the block, and he has the costume collection to prove it. Besides all the Batman possibilities, his allies and rogues gallery has changed over the years, too. Some artists focused on the likes of the Joker, Mr. Freeze, and Catwoman.

As per usual with these poster projects, my favorite part is seeing the varying styles and interpretations from the assembled artists. The differences are especially appropriate for Batman, a character who has been illustrated and portrayed every which way by dozens of artists in his 75 year history. Flipping through the work of artists who contributed to the Poster Posse is like taking a trip through the decades, capturing the essence of the vigilante in the process.

You can see more fan-made posters over at Blurppy.

Which of these Batman 75 posters is your favorite? Let us know in the comments.

Thanks for featuring our project! Picking a favorite is tough! Orlando’s 1966 Rogues, Swainson’s 1939 vintage styled poster, The Dark Inker’s Joker and so many more amazing entries!
