The trailer for the new season of Drunk History has officially dropped, and it looks like this season is going to be truly hilarious. If you haven’t had a chance to watch the show, Drunk History is an Emmy-award winning show that features comedians and actors drunkenly narrating some of the most epic stories from history over a dramatic re-enactment. The results are nothing short of hilarious, but it’s also weirdly educational. It’s the whole package, basically.
This season has quite a bit of hype behind it, because while we’ll get episodes starring the likes of Elizabeth Olsen, Gabourey Sidibe, Patton Oswalt, Tony Hale, and more, there’s a particular narrator slated for this season who has everyone talking: Lin-Manuel Miranda, the genius behind the recent Broadway smash Hamilton, will be narrating the story of the Burr vs. Hamilton duel. Even better, Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development) will be playing the 10 dollar Founding Father, and Aubrey Plaza (Parks & Rec) will be playing Aaron Burr. Of course the trailer didn’t give us a huge glimpse into the Hamilton episode, but we definitely did get to hear Drunk Lin declare, “Your ass will never be the same!” So I think it’s safe to say this episode is going to be a definite crowd-pleaser for Hamilfans.
Of course this season isn’t only about the Hamilton/Burr episode. From the looks of the trailer we can expect one story about Galileo and another aboutDisco Demolition Night, narrated by Saul Goodman himself, Bob Odenkirk. Thankfully, you don’t have to wait too long before you get to enjoy the awesomeness that is Drunk History. The new season starts on September 27 on Comedy Central.
