The Nerdist Channel Presents “All Star Celebrity Bowling” #2 — Good Game, Let’s Go Eat

This week on Chris Hardwick’s All Star Celebrity Bowling on the Nerdist Channel, Team Nerdist battles Team Celebrity Chef for all the appetizers. It’s Chris, Jonah Ray, Sex Nerd Sandra, and Alison Haislip carrying the bright yellow banner of Team Nerdist against celebrity chefs Michael Voltaggio (winner of season 6 of Top Chef), Jennifer Behm (MasterChef season 2 winner), My Drunk Kitchen‘s Hannah Hart, and Epic Meal Time‘s Harley Morenstein. It’s people who can cook (or, in Harley’s case, who can pile food on top of other food and add bacon) versus people who can, um, enjoy food? I don’t know. Anyway, it’s hot bowling action and related frivolity at the Hollywood Roosevelt hotel’s The Spare Room (a/k/a All Star Arena).

They’re playing for charity, of course, and here’s who the chefs are representing: Voltaggio’s playing for the culinary program at St. Joseph’s Center in Venice, CA; Behm’s on board for the American Freedom Foundation; Hart’s rolling for the Homeless Children’s Network in San Francisco; and Morenstein’s representing the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

So watch the show now by clicking here and stay tuned for more from the Nerdist Channel, including tomorrow’s big debut of the video edition of The Indoor Kids. Go bowling!

  1. To be fair, Dancing with the Stars is not totally accurate either. IMHO Celebrity Bowling describes that program much more accurately.

I know….this idea is brilliant!!! Fantasy Celebrity Bowling!! Yahoo has Fantasy Golf. (There was even Fantasy Project Runway. ) This could work. You’d have to include points for things that happen and things people say. It would be like a drinking game but for points instead of alcohol.

The winner gets….well the best prize of all. Bragging rights. Ok, so saying “Oh I won a Fantasy Celebrity Bowling League!!!” is as much bragging as some appropriate metaphor here. Oh that reminds me, I have to go set up my team in Fantasy Baseball for tomorrow.

If there is real interest, I will develop rules. It could be done with a shared google excel sheet & email.

Could you start announcing who you are going up against before the match so that way we can start laying down bets? Of course all my bets would be for Team Nerdist! LOL

  4. Lucy says:

Love this show! Can’t wait for the G4 episode,

  5. Murphy1d says:

As a former Chef I was totally geeking out at the Celebrity of the chefs.

  6. @Ryan: I believe G4 is the next ep! Kev, Candace, Morgan, Blair Herter & Jessica Chobot!

  7. Ryan says:

I’d love to see Pereira or Kumail in one of these.

    OMGAHDS NERDIST VS G4.

  8. Mandy W. says:

Really loving this show Chris! Keep up the good work!

  9. @mgm: the jerkiest comments USUALLY start with “not to be a jerk…” ;)

Harley Morenstein alone gets more viewers on Epic Meal Time than many network TV shows. Voltaggio won Top Chef. These people are celebrity chefs. If that’s not good enough for you, wait until the next handful of episodes!

    Looking forward to more nitpicks!

mgm makes an interesting point above…i mean, lets face it, we are talking about groups of nerds….perhaps we should call it:.
    “Celibacy Bowling” .

  11. mgm says:

Not to be a jerk, but I’m not sure calling this “Celebrity” Bowling is entirely accurate.

  12. Matt Grandis says:

Am I mixing up Nerdist lore or did Alison slap Chris on the ass once and he was not amused? Someone should have told Hannah.

Anyway, I’d love to see a longer cut of these.

  13. Epic Bowl Time! Sandra rocks!
