The Indoor Kids #147: Time Capsule: ET Landfills and Dan Harmon

Hello all! Kumail and Emily regrettably are too overloaded in the month of May, so they’ve decided to re-release four of their favorite episodes along with an extra long Intro Kids. Today, you’ll hear about gaming news, how Kumail and Emily are failing at Trials Fusion, and why we chose Episode #19 with Dan Harmon as our first Time Capsule.

  1. Ryan says:

Congrats on the book Emily! And I am so glad Kumail got to keep that mural lol.

  2. Kevin says:

The ‘ET landfill’ wasn’t just that game. It was their whole catalog and a bunch of consoles. The reason ET shows up so much is they over-invested in the game and just had more of them to bury.

    • Kevin says:

Should probably add that it never really was a ‘legend’ as Atari said they did it and had the financial records to back it up.
Apparently ‘legends’ are born of not many people being motivated to sift through a New Mexico tundra to find the right garbage that confirms the story empirically.
I’m good just taking Atari’s word for it, man. I got shit to do.

  3. Noel says:

I was just thinking how you guys never seem to take a break so it’s great to see you are taking one. Plus this is a great episode that I hadn’t heard before. Look forward to hearing more classic episodes.

Hey guys do what you gotta do, but just please please promise to never end this podcast! I think i can speak on behalf of all the indoor kids when I say we are willing to wait as long as you need for new episodes, as long as there will be new episodes eventually. lol

Love you guys, love the podcast and everything else you guys do

  5. Grant says:

This is the exact podcast I would have in mind as a best of. Dan Harmon is very interesting to listen to. He should have his own podcast. It’d be cool if Kumail visited his podcast too.
