Did i hear you guys right ? i think you said that the South park game developer is Oblivion ? actually its Obsidian. Its easy to get the two confused not only are they 2 long ish word starting with OB and ending in N and have 4 syllables each but Obsidian is a games studio that made Fallout New vegas, which was a sequel to Fallout 4 which was made by Bethedsa which in turn made a game called Oblivion – the elder scrolls game before Skyrim.

Great episode guys – the new game editor seems like a cool guy. And special thanks for bringing that article about the Street Fighter movie to our attention – fascinating read about a combination of my two favourite subjects – massage parlours and JCVD’s sex life, I mean, video games and movies!

  3. HunterJE says:

One of the things I love about the South Park game is that on top of the funny South Park references it is also full of often very inside gaming jokes.

Also, link to the dog rolling down a hill video pls? For some reason it is not tagged under “Movies” in the episode description 😛

Dark Souls isn’t *that* bad. It’s hard, but if you can beat Ninja Gaiden you’ll be fine with it.

It can be hard to get used to at first because the combat is different. It’s sort of like Punch-Out! If you dive in and go on the offensive you’ll tire yourself out and get killed in two seconds. You need to be more deliberate and tactical. You need to stay on the defensive then get your shots in when an enemy whiffs an attack.

It also doesn’t do the best job of explaining its systems, which makes it more inaccessible than it has to be. Like how certain weapons work best with certain stats, or how it’s super important to upgrade your weapons. But if you read up on the mechanics beforehand you’ll have an easier time of it.

Titanfall is the first proper entry into the next gen contest and it looks like an amazing one. Xbox should now sell a hell of a lot of Xbox Ones as it’s bundled with it now.

Plus that article about the Street Fighter movie is fascinating. It’s interesting to finally read what was going on behind the scenes to make that movie as bad as it was. I remember wondering why there weren’t many of the special moves in the movie.

@Alec I think Kumail may be saying kumite which refers to a martial arts tournament like in the Mortal Kombat movie or in the awesome Jean Claude Van Damme movie Blood Sport.

Thanks guys, it was a great show as usual.

  6. Alec says:

Does anyone know what term Kumail uses at 58:57? I couldn’t make it out.

  7. Ben says:

Okay. That dog rolling down the hill made me feel good.

Hey guys, I am a huge fan of Dark Souls 2 but I would actually not recommend you buy it if you don’t have a lot of time to play. The campaign is like 40+ hours and consistently difficult. It takes a LONG time to get good enough. I quit Demons Souls and Dark Souls 1 half way through because I was overwhelmed. They claim Dark Souls 2 is more accessible but it really isn’t.
