The GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Cast Does Their Best ‘I Am Groot’

Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka…

If the sweet strains of Blue Swede’s “Hooked on a Feeling” aren’t burned into your brain by now, then they definitely will be after you experience the intergalactic excellence of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, which opens this weekend (or later this evening if you live near a particularly awesome theater).

It’s no small secret that we’re big fans of the film here at Nerdist: Brian Walton and I gushed over it in our first impressions video, Kyle Anderson gave it a glowing review, and we can’t stop watching the LEGO version of the trailer. So, apart from seeing it, what’s left? Sitting down with the cast and crew and picking their brains, of course, which is exactly what I did recently at a press day on the Disney lot.

In a wide-ranging conversation, I sat down with director James Gunn and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, and Vin Diesel to talk about why now was the right time for a film like Guardians of the Galaxy, how this bunch of a-holes rises to the occasion, and, of course, their best Groot impressions.

Have you seen the film? Who do you think had the best Groot impression? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

  1. Rachel M. says:

I wonder if the dance moves from the movie were taken from Vin Diesel’s actual moves.

  2. Jason says:

Dear Nerdist: get a video player that doesn’t suck on mobile devices.l or just insert a YouTube iframe. Thanks.

  3. Kevin says:

I’ve seen a lot of the promotional interviews and stuff, and not once has Bradley Cooper been in them.

  4. Joe says:

    Vin Diesel looks/sounds sotally tober.

  5. Ben says:

Your ads are preventing the video from starting

  6. Ben says:

Your ads are preventing the video from starting. I haven’t been able to watch anything all day.

    • Chris Michael says:

Thanks Ben, would you mind sending me an email with what browser/device you are using so I can send it to our tech team?
