The First Teaser for Telltale’s THE WALKING DEAD: SEASON 3 Is Here

Following the 2014 conclusion of Telltale‘s The Walking Dead: Season 2, the developer shifted its focus to the short 3-episode mini-series, The Walking Dead: Michonne–which we loved. However, since the finale released back in April, we’ve been craving more information about the main series. As promised, Telltale Games shared a teaser for The Walking Dead: Season 3, exclusively on IGN today, after this morning’s first look at Batman: The Telltale Series. Check out the video at the top of the page.

In the brief clip, we don’t see much aside from a zombie feasting on a corpse moments before Clementine and a mysterious new playable character (named Javier) show up and take care of him. But it seems this isn’t just your regular zombie, as Javier remarks to his companion “That one’s marked too. We must be getting close.” To what, we’re not sure of yet, but we’re curious to find out.

It’s also unclear how long it’s been since Season 2. Clementine certainly looks older, and is missing a finger (what!). She also teamed up with Javier at some point, so we’re guessing we’ll find out more about their connection. Our only question is, where’s Kenny?

“He’s been through a lot and he is central to this story. He is absolutely important to what’s going on,” Telltale’s Job Stauffer said about Javier during the reveal on IGN.  He explained that Javier and Clementine “have a lot of common goals, if not a lot of common enemies.”

According to Telltale’s Laura Perusco (also on the stream) Season 3 is ” very much a new story as much as it is a continuation.” So, it sounds like we’re in for a treat. Seeing an even stronger, more grown up Clementine will be refreshing.

The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series returns for Season 3 this fall. Stay tuned for updates, and more footage.
