Strap yourselves in good and tight, Batfans, because today’s Movie Morsels has our latest look at Justice League–more specifically, at its new and improved Batmobile. Plus, a casting update on Mission: Impossible 6, Ryan Gosling‘s new comic-book adaptation, and oh so very much more!
It might not be the Batmobile we deserve, but it could be the Batmobile we need right now… Zack Snyder has shared a new photo of the Dark Knight’s wheels from the upcoming Justice League. And if you thought the darn thing was packing some heavy artillery in Batman v Superman, well, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet…

“Upgrades… what are you worried about Wayne,” writes Snyder when sharing the above image on Vero.
One of the early 1990s’ most popular antiheroes, created by Jim Lee during the height of the Image explosion, is getting the big screen treatment. Dave Wilson, special effects wiz and Deadpool director Tim Miller’s partner at Blur Studios, will make his feature film directorial debut with Bloodshot. The news was announced by accident at this weekend’s Emerald City Comicon by Arrival screenwriter and comic-book writer Eric Heisserer and Valiant Entertainment CEO Dinesh Shamdasani. Now if we could just travel back in time and get early ’90s Jean-Claude Van Damme to play the title character!
The Underwater Welder
La La Land‘s Ryan Gosling just can’t stop playing in the genre sandbox. After directing the fantasy thriller Lost River, Gosling is producing The Underwater Welder, based on the acclaimed graphic novel by Sweet Tooth writer Jeff Lemire. The book “details a man in the dangerous profession of underwater welding, who has a supernatural encounter at the bottom of the sea.” No actors announced yet. Hey, maybe the Gos will take the deep dive on screen!
Mission: Impossible 6
Okay, I gotta admit I have mixed feelings about the following news. Reportedly, Mission: Impossible 6 has found a female lead in The Crown‘s Vanessa Kirby. To this I say: Great, hurrah! But since M:I5‘s Rebecca Ferguson was the best thing to ever happen to this franchise, and since Ferguson was already announced to star in M:I6, I’m a little puzzled. If the film has two female leads, well, more power to it. But so help me, if they pull some kind of Bourne stunt and kill off Ferguson’s character in the first scene, my wrath will be as merciless and endless as Ethan Hunt’s.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi
In case you missed it on Friday, The Force Awakens‘ Big Bad Snoke (played by Andy Serkis) is supposed to be leaner and meaner in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Nerdist News has the deets.
Finally today, in the wake of the acclaimed Logan‘s opening weekend, the ever gracious Hugh Jackman is thanking fans for his 17-year career as Wolverine with an Instagram video. And let’s face it, Wolvie is responsible for Jackman’s entire film career!
