Whether you prefer your Fassbender naked and upset in Shame, starving in Hunger, or subjugating the world with metal in the X-Men films, one thing is for sure: Michael Fassbender rules. He rules so hard that I need a plastic idol of him to bow before, on Fass-bended knee, and believe it or not, due to Marvel-Fox weirdness there is no toy bearing his likeness as Magneto. There is one of David from Prometheus, but showing my love for that film in any way always makes at least one person in the room start yelling.
So here’s hoping the Assassin’s Creed movie is good, because the action figure of Aguilar–on a pedestal suitable for maximum Fassbenderage–looks excellent.
First spotted at Moviepilot.com, the figure includes a 3D-scanned likeness of El Fass (is that a thing to say? If not, can it be?), multiple points of articulation, and both a long sword and hidden blade. With the usual McFarlane Toys attention to detail, he is a reminder that Assassin’s Creed will always beat Scott Stapp’s Creed. And that some of us will greet the toy with wallets wide open, as he’s just $20.
Obviously, if this increases our chances of owning costar Marion Cotillard in plastic as well, that would be a very nice bonus. In the meantime, let us all like Mike and hail the Fassbender.
Is my fandom too much? Is it not a question of “will” I buy Aguilar, but rather “how many”? (Lots of customs to do, so little time…)
