That’s One Small Step For Newbs. One…GiantLeapForTehLulz.

So. To reinvigorate America’s waning interest in the space program, NASA has taken an inspired and admirable step; creating a freeware game called Moonbase Alpha where the player takes on the role of an astronaut working to resolve an emergency on a hypothetical moonbase in the not too distant future.

However, in what amounts to the Internet equivalent of forgetting to convert to metric, they assumed, in their naiveté, that people would actually use it for its intended and extremely boring purpose.

As the video below demonstrates, humanity at large has much loftier aspirations and will not be constrained.

(NSFW robot language. But if your boss doesn’t think that this is hilarious, then I humbly contend that you should find a better place to work.)

Tonight, I can sleep soundly knowing that my tax dollars have gone to good use. I’m not being sarcastic. This is better than Medicare.
