STRANGER THINGS Comics Are Coming from Dark Horse This Fall

Stranger Things third season may not arrive this year, but 2018 is turning into a big turning point for the franchise. Fans won’t have to wait long for new adventures in the Upside Down. During E3 2018, Netflix and Telltale Games revealed plans for a Stranger Things video game. And  a Stranger Things prequel novel is coming in 2019, with more books to follow. Plus on Monday, Dark Horse Comics announced they’re releasing a Stranger Things comic this fall.

Via Entertainment Weekly (EW), Dark Horse revealed a four-issue Stranger Things miniseries is launching in September. Jody Houser will write the series with Stefano Martino illustrating, Keith Champagne inking, Lauren Affe coloring, and Nate Piekos lettering. The story will take place during the first season of the series and explore what happened to Will Byers while he was trapped in the alternate world known as the Upside Down.

EW also has a preview of the first few pages of the comic, which features narration from Will and his initial encounter with Eleven before he was whisked away by the Demogorgon. Dark Horse has also indicated this is only the first of several Stranger Things comics to come. Future comic book stories could explore other significant origin stories or depict previously unseen tales set during the first or second seasons.
