Steampunk Dalek

I mean, how could you not want this li’l guy EX. TERRR. MINATE.-ing his way through your Victorian streets? Powered by steam and hate, this valve-tastic creation would make even Davros proud.

Maybe the piston merely stores pressurized gas and releases it as something inside the hollow axle operates something else underneath that makes the hidden gears turn the axle and thus the wheels.

  2. Mai says:

    Piston fail.

  3. Dave says:

Sean and Brent that is. It is only cool if it works unless you live in la-la land.

  4. Dave says:

Brent is right. It will not work with the drive piston connected direct to the axle. It has to be offset.

  6. DotC says:

Looks like it even has a chimney sweep attachment. Super Steampunkarific!

  7. RHoltslander says:

As in almost all steampunk it is a sculpture that evokes a feeling and sensibility rather than some kind of working marvel based on late 1800’s technology. There’s a reason that those technologies fell by the wayside.
    It’s a rather attractive sculpture.

  8. August says:

You have to love the people who, rather than at least acknowledge it is a fine piece of work, feel the need to point out design flaws… :)

  9. Joachim says:

Fantastic! How much is it? And how tall is it? Weight?

  10. brent says:

the wheels wouldn’t turn with that design

  11. brent says:

The wheel’s wouldn’t turn with that design

  12. Sean says:

Too bad the piston design in incorrect. It should be offset to the axle

  13. Timothy says:

Nice, but the piston should be attached off centre, or it’s not going to turn the wheel. :)

  14. Barb says:

    A!
    DOR!
