Star Wars Travel Art

Plucky nerd artist Steve Thomas made a set of eight original vintage-y Star Wars travel art pieces with the intention of poster-izing them. They’re not posters just yet, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy their goodness in digital form!

These pieces will remind you of that time you went to Taootine on a company retreat and that Jawa stole your wife’s purse.

So cool! I would love a series in post card form.

  2. Steve Thomas says:

Thanks for the post. I appreciate it, as well as all the fine comments. Chewy as Rosie the Riveter – great idea. Cloud City? Another gem. If all works out, I should do 4 more to complete a calendar. But don’t quote me on that.

And yes, I’m well aware of Justin Van Genderen’s fine work. His minimalistic style is fantastic.

  3. Ranger Bug says:

These are too cool. I’m a park ranger, and these automatically reminded me of those fantastic old WPA National Parks posters.

My fave is the Imperial Star Destroyer one. Excellent work.

  5. Hurricane Ditka says:

From what I can see from Chris’ link Justin Van Genderen’s images only have the planets from a distance and different perspectives. Steve’s are more… Should I say, personal???

Can I request a image of Chewbacca working on the Millenium Falcon as Rosie the Riveter from a WW2 poster?

  6. He is not the first to do this though. Justin Van Genderen has created a series of prints in his own style as well.

I love old grand prix/monaco posters, the first one is stellar.

Awesome prints. He is not the first to do this though. Justin Van Genderen has created a series of prints in his own style as well.
