New STAR WARS Hot Toys Release Is a Skywalker Family Affair

Force Friday is behind us, so it’s about playing the waiting game until the release of The Last Jedi this December. Once again, our friends over at Hot Toys have Star Wars fans covered in the interim. This time, we travel over to the dark side of the Force, with three new figures: Anakin Skywalker, Kylo Ren, and a First Order stormtrooper executioner.

With one rash, emotional decision, Anakin Skywalker altered the Star Wars universe for years to come. This figure depicts Hayden Christensen as he looked in Revenge of the Sith. In that movie, he was a cocky, sure of himself Jedi. He became one of the greatest villains of all time when he transformed into Darth Vader.

The Anakin figure comes with both a gloved and exposed artificial right arm, both his and Dooku‘s lightsabers, a full cloak, four sets of hands, and a stand. Here’s a pro-tip: if you want to troll your friends who don’t like the special editions, make sure to display Anakin next to your Obi-Wan and Yoda figures. It’ll drive them nuts.

Following in his grandfather’s footsteps, Kylo Ren is one of the leaders of the First Order. Originally trained to be a Jedi by his Uncle Luke, Ben Solo now follows Supreme Leader Snoke in the ways of the dark side. We are still not sure what led to Kylo’s turn, but after killing his own father, redemption is going to be pretty hard to come by.

Kylo comes with both an Adam Driver head mold, as well as a helmeted mold, four sets of hands, his tri-saber, and a stand.

One of the best things that the Disney purchase of Star Wars has done is give stormtroopers more variety–like this stormtrooper executioner.  That’s taking it up a notch. With the memes of TR-8R and BB-H8 growing so quickly, it will be cool to see what internet spectacle this trooper creates. The figure comes with a battle axe, a blaster, five sets of hands, and a stand.

You can check out more pictures of these three figures in the gallery below, and can pre-order any (or all) at Sideshow Collectibles here.

Which of these figures will you be adding to your dark side collection? What will it take to finally get the Matt the Radar Technician figure made? Let me know on Twitter at @donnielederer or sound off in the comments.
