In brightest day, in blackest night, no milkshake shall escape my sight. This week is St. Patrick’s Day, a time of feasting on green foods and the one time a year when a certain shake comes back in season.
This dreamy, minty concoction is only made better with the power of Green Lantern’s light in the form of the symbol sprinkled with matcha powder.
My Emotional Spectrum is telling me this is delicious, time to summon the Lantern Corps for dessert!
– 2 cups vanilla ice cream
– 1/2 cup milk
– 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
– a few drops green food gel dye
– whipped cream
– matcha powder
Cut out a Green Lantern symbol for a template, large enough to fit the diameter of the mouth of the cup you’re using. Set aside.
In a blender add the ice cream, milk, peppermint extract and green food gel dye. Blend until just combined.
Pour into a glass and top with whipped cream. Use an offset spatula to spread flat.
Place the template on top of the whipped cream and sift matcha powder over the template.
Lift off the template and serve.
