We’ve had no shortage of Unreal Engine 4 videos lately. Fans of various Nintendo games have implanted their favorite characters from these franchises in the now popular Unreal kite demo, and most recently we got to explore a remake of Zora’s Domain using the powerful engine. Well, if you were impressed by those rad videos, like we were, you may want to take a seat for this one.
YouTube user ArtistArtorias posted this clip of young Link taking a stroll in Kakariko Village from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time created with the graphical prowess of Unreal Engine 4. Make sure not to drool on your keyboard while watching the footage above.
Ioannis Papazis, the artist behind this project, did an excellent job staying true to the source material. Everything looks accurate to the original title. Even Link’s movement is spot on. Out of all these videos that have surfaced recently, this one makes the best case for Nintendo to make use of this technology. It looks absolutely brilliant.
With their next console already in the works, it’s likely that it will include more horsepower under the hood compared to the Wii U, so it’s completely plausible that it could support this tech. I’d love to see what the folks over at Nintendo could do with these development tools.
Did this impress you? What other game would you like to get this treatment? Do you think Nintendo will ever consider going this route with future installments? Let us know in the comments below.
