Fans of Simon Pegg and all he does: rejoice! The actor has another film on the cusp of debut and there’s a sweet, sweet, animated poster here for your viewing pleasure. Kill Me Three Times looks hilariously deadly.
We’re going to go ahead and say it: all posters on the Internet should be animated posters. Why? Because there’s something just so Harry Potter about it all (moving picture!) that honestly, movie studios would be stupid not to do it all the time. Behold, the future is now:
A darkly comedic thriller set in the Australian surfing town of Eagle’s Nest, Pegg plays assassin Charlie Wolfe, a semi-erratic type who discovers, upon entering the town, that his bloodhunt for Alice Taylor (Alice Braga) isn’t the only one afoot. In fact there are several folks hoping to kill this so-called siren. Naturally, a bumbling caper commences. At its heart are three murders, a bunch of mayhem, a wee bit of blackmail, and a heck of a lot of revenge — because of course. What else would you expect, I mean really?
Making its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival next week, the film also stars Sullivan Stapleton as Nathan Webb, an addictive, gambling sort who risks a life of crime via insurance scamming to pay off his debts; Teresa Palmer as Lucy Webb, a “small town Lady Macbeth” (their words, not ours); Callan Mulvey as Jack Taylor, a jealous sort of club owner on the beach with money to burn (maybe, say, trying to have his wife killed?); Luke Hemsworth as Dylan Smith, a local surfer; and Bryan Brown as corrupt cop — there’s always got to be one — Bruce Jones.
So — who’s looking forward to this one? And also/for real: don’t you think all movie posters should be animated? Let us know in the comments.
