Many of us here at Nerdist (and surely you readers at home) collected Goosebumps books by the hundreds when we were kids, reading and rereading their tales of macabre mysteries and ghoulish ghosts. In fact, some of us still have a few crumpled up copies of Monster Blood, Say Cheese and Die, and Welcome to Camp Nightmare fondly placed on our bookshelves. That’s why we were tickled pink to discover that those very Goosebumps stories would be coming to life on the big screen this fall.
The Goosebumps movie, which is a 3D combo of live-action and computer animation, centers around Zach, a new kid in town (Dylan Minnette) who meets and becomes friends with Hannah, the girl next door (Odeya Rush). All sounds normal, right? WRONG! Hannah’s dad is none other than R.L. Stine (Jack Black), the enigmatic writer behind the Goosebumps books. But when Zach accidentally unleashes the monsters and ghosts inside Stine’s manuscripts, all hell breaks loose — literally. Goosebumps hits theaters October 16, just in time for Halloween — but because we love YOU so much, dear Nerdist readers, some of you are going to get to see it early!
That’s right, we’ve teamed up with Sony to bring you a free advance screening of Goosebumps on Tuesday, October 6 at the Arclight Cinemas Hollywood, complete with an introduction by Chris Hardwick himself. That means you’ll get to see the movie a full week before anyone else! With Chris Hardwick! And maybe some spooky prizes and surprises!
You may be quemmenting to yourself, “But Nerdist folk, how do I get in?” It’s simple, CLICK HERE TO RSVP.
