Say Cheese and Chat: Jack Black Talks GOOSEBUMPS at Comic-Con

A little over a year from now, Jack Black is going to bring a self-aware version of R.L. Stine to the big screen in the Rob Letterman directed horror/comedy, Goosebumps. In our exclusive interview with Black during San Diego Comic-Con, Dan Casey reunited with Jack Black to find out what t it was like turning the famous author into his own character, the tone the gang was going for (so as not to traumatize younger audience members), and who was the biggest prankster on set.

At the Sony panel yesterday, some of the film’s footage was shown to a stellar reaction from the crowd, and it really is starting to seem like Goosebumps will be one to look out for in 2015. We’re always up for surprise hits, and if this is one of them, we couldn’t be more thrilled.

For all of our Comic-Con coverage throughout the remainder of the weekend, be sure to check out the Nerdist SDCC splash page, follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, and use the hashtag #SDCC to catch up with us in real-time. Oh, and don’t forget to watch Jack Black and Kyle Gass kick-off our coverage with an epic Comic-Con pep talk.

Goosebumps hits theaters August 7th, 2015.

  1. Scott says:

    I’m looking forward to it.

I met R.L. Stein when I was a kid, he signed my copy of “The Haunted Mask”

I don’t know what Jack Black was saying…R.L. is a scary scary man when you are 6 years old.
