As part of the ongoing 20th-anniversary celebration of Sailor Moon that started in 2013, Premium Bandai will be releasing another item in its line of stationery. This time, it will be the Kaleidomoon Scope, fashioned into a pointer pen.
The Kaleidomoon Scope was given to Sailor Moon by Pegasus during Sailor Moon Super S, the fourth season of the anime series. She uses the scope to perform the Moon Gorgeous Meditation Attack.
The pen is an exact replica of the scope, but I would not recommend attempting to fight evil magical forces with it. However, should you need to write a strongly worded letter to the proper authorities that are trained to handle such things, then this is for you.
The pen has a reach of about 36 cm, or 14 in. The feathers on the base can open and collapse. The pointer end doubles as a cap for a ball point pen.
According to Anime News Network, the pen used a pearl paint to give it “an iridescent, magical shine.” The pointer pen will ship this April and will run you 22 dollars unless you can convince some magical creature to give it to you instead. You can pre-order the Kaleidomoon Scope at the Sun-Star Stationary website here.
So what do you think? Are you ready to “point out” to the world your love of Sailor Moon? Or do you like to be a little more inconspicuous when signing store receipts? Let me know on Twitter or harness the power of the Sailor Scouts in the comments below.
