There’s been a silent-but-effective game looming around the MOBA scene in closed beta for the past year, and today S2 Games is ready to share this title with the masses, announcing an open beta for their upcoming MOBA game Strife. S2 Games has been regarded as one of the top innovators on the MOBA scene after creating quite the buzz with Heroes of Newerth. With Strife, they’ve cut the fluff you’re used to experiencing in your typical MOBA games to deliver a brand new title that’s easier, very responsive, and far more hospitable to new players who want to join a competitive MOBA community.
“Our vision for Strife can be best explained by examining the globally beloved sport of Soccer,” stated Marc DeForest, CEO and Co-Founder of S2 Games. “The way I’d play soccer with my kids is completely different from the way I’d play competitively in college or the way World Cup teams battle professionally. We designed Strife to be a game as accessible as soccer, to be enjoyed by players of all skill levels.”
After some extended hands-on time with Strife, I’m inclined to say that it is arguably one of the most accessible and well-balanced MOBAs on the market to date. We’ll be delving further into this game as our PAX coverage rolls out, but until then, hop on into that open beta and find out for yourself.
