It’s no secret that U.F.C. star Ronda Rousey is not a fan of the now retired boxer, Floyd Mayweather JR. She has called him out on numerous occasions, and both have thrown verbal jabs each other’s way. Unfortunately, there is absolutely zero chance that we will one day get to witness these two duke it out in the ring– they’re both in different combat-sports. That hasn’t stopped us from dreaming of the must watch television spectacle. Well, dream no more my friends, YouTube user Richie Branson has uploaded the above clip of a mod that introduces the two fighters into the PC version of Ultra Street Fighter IV. Naturally, he pit them against each other.
As to keep bias out of the equation, he simulated the fight to give us a glimpse of what we could expect from this fight. Watch the epic battle above.
Ronda Rousey has become a hero of sorts in the nerd community; she’s a kick-ass MMA fighter who has repeatedly professed her love of Pokémon, Dragon Ball Z, and is even trying to land a role as a Marvel hero. Not to mention that she’s a phenom in her chosen sport and currently holds perfect 12-0 record.
Floyd Mayweather, also as equally dominant if not more so in Boxing, also holds a perfect record of 49-0 in his career, and will go down as one of the best defensive combatants to ever participate in the sport. Their disdain for each other, and utter success in their respective field is what makes this Street Fighter IV simulation so interesting.
Obviously this isn’t at all accurate, we have no idea what a real life gauntlet between these two would look like. Rousey would definitely have the advantage in this favorable setting. Money is also not as big as this mod makes him out to be. I really dig adding real life combatants into Street Fighter, because it would make for some fun competitive play. Richie Branson plans to release the mod skins which will be available this weekend if you’re interested in creating your own fantasy bout.
What other fighter would you like to be added to Street Fighter? Let us know in the comments below.
