As it turns out, the Fastest Man Alive is also a massive fan of Rihanna. At least, Justice League actor Ezra Miller is. The 23-year-old actor took a break from promoting his upcoming turns in Zack Snyder’s Justice League (in which he plays Barry Allen/The Flash) and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them to serenade a group of fans with an impromptu rendition of Rihanna’s smash hit “Work.” Thankfully, Nerdist‘s Jesse Gill happened to be in an adjoining room, and followed the sweet strains to its source: Miller gleefully jamming out on a piano in the Hilton Bayfront Hotel.
This probably shouldn’t come as a surprise considering that Miller trained as an opera singer at a young age and actually sang with the Metropolitan Opera. Still, it’s nice to see that in addition to chewing the scenery in films like Trainwreck and We Need to Talk About Kevin that Miller can provide a much-needed bit of musical levity during the craziness of Comic-Con.
Miller also made quite a scene during the first-look Justice League footage that was released during Warner Bros. Hall H panel. The footage presentation featured Miller’s Barry Allen returning home to his high-tech apartment to find Bruce Wayne sitting in his “second-favorite chair,” on a mission to recruit him for the nascent Justice League. It was a version of the character that feels different than Grant Gustin’s iteration on the hit The CW series, yet still true to his comic book counterpart. And considering the flak that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice took for its relentless doom-and-gloom tone, Miller’s take on The Flash looks like it’ll provide some sorely needed levity.
