I’d be interested to see you and Alex Albrecht host together sometime, but my television might explode from the pressure of containing so much awesomeness at once. The Nerdist says: June 24, 2008 at 12:52 pm Many thanks, Chris! I have more plans for the nerdist so hopefully you’ll see some expansion in the coming months. chris says: June 24, 2008 at 12:48 pm Wow! Well the awkardness part definitely came through at the end there. I honestly thought she was serious about taking offense to the drinking comment. Well delivered on her part! Perhaps ‘Gervais-esque’, though not as wordly sounding, would be more accurate. Either way, good segment, and this is a great idea for a blog. Looking forward to seeing more stuff on here in the future. The Nerdist says: June 24, 2008 at 8:51 am That sounds about right. Scott says: June 24, 2008 at 4:39 am If you would have slapped her back I imagine it would have gone something like this: They would have wanted “a word with you” off camera during commercial and Layla would have been advised not to ask questions about your disappearance. Then they would have kicked an intern behind the podium before they went back on. The Nerdist says: June 24, 2008 at 12:17 am Thanks, Beth! Chris, I’m gonna go with Kaufmanesque on this one. Layla’s a super cool chick. Before the show, we were talking about a slap she was supposed to deliver to my face and I mused, “If I hit you back (not that I EVER would), I wonder if they’d let me finish the show or if there’d be a “technical difficulties” card and I’d just disappear in the middle. She honestly thought it would be hilarious if I slapped her back. I didn’t, of course, but I admire that she tried to convince me to do so for the sheer awkwardness of the moment. That is why I choose “Kaufmanesque.” chris says: June 23, 2008 at 11:33 pm I’ve never seen that show, but she’s either a Kaufmanesque genius or borderline retarded. chris says: June 23, 2008 at 11:33 pm I’ve never seen that show, but she’s either a Kaufmanesque genius or borderline retarded. Beth. says: June 23, 2008 at 11:04 pm This was the best AOTS you’ve ever hosted. I just can’t believe that for all the beatings you received on Friday’s show, none of them were for calling Layla Kayleigh ‘Fish ‘n Chips’. Both of my hearts thank you for that one. Dan Telfer says: June 23, 2008 at 9:29 am Your wit unnerved a British woman. Well done! The Nerdist says: June 22, 2008 at 7:07 pm Thanks, Scott! Scott says: June 22, 2008 at 5:47 pm Hilarious as always. Friday’s show was one of the best of the year. Good work.
