Great news for all you Alex Vause (a/k/a Laura Prepon) fans out there: one half of Orange is The New Black‘s favorite, messed-up criminal coupling will be returning a heck of a lot next season. To which you might say, “Duh, Alicia: we already knew that.” To which we say: “Yeah — but did you know that she’s going to show up in every.single.episode next season?” Bet you didn’t know that part, did ya?
In a story from Us Magazine that totally buried the lead, Prepon confessed the news. “It sucked because [OITNB creator] Jenji Kohan and I wanted me to be in it more, but with the schedule, it didn’t happen: I was so bummed out. But I handled it, so I’m in every [episode] in season three. It is so good.”
The news is no doubt a welcome one to rabid fans of Vause, whose disappointment was the wail heard ’round the Internet when it was revealed that she would only appear in four episodes of season two.
Though there’s no word on when season three will premiere (though its existence has already been confirmed), we do know that at least one new face will be arriving at Litchfield: that of Mary Steenbergen, the hilariously delightful actress from some of your favorite comedies, no doubt.
So — does that put your mind at ease, Alex/Piper fans? Or does it merely make you even more excited for the series as-yet-unknown return to Netflix? Let us know in the comments!
