Amid this weekend’s Star Wars insanity, it’s easy to forget Disney’s other massive conglomerate, Marvel, is currently hard at work on a cinematic universe the likes of which we’ve never seen before. Not just limited to the silver screen, however, the MCU has spent the last year and a half cementing itself a television home that will take its first steps outside of the Phil Coulson shoes in January with ABC’s Agent Carter, an 8-part limited-series event that will show the early days of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division through the eyes of everyone’s favorite Captain America: The First Avenger supporting character, Peggy Carter. So, to get us ready for the premiere that’s currently a little over a month away, Marvel has released a brand new promo for us to salivate over. Check it out:
The song may be the same as the last promo we got, but some of this new footage is masterfully putting on display Peggy’s double life as civilian and spy. While not a wholly original concept – Alias wasn’t that long ago – it will be interesting to see what Peggy Carter’s “normal” life looks like. Remember, in The First Avenger, she seemed 100% committed to her military life and lacked much of a hobby outside of it, so what we’ll get to see here is a new side of Peggy that should provide us some much needed insight into how she ended up marrying someone else after her first love went down in a plane crash during World War II.
Marvel’s Agent Carter premieres Tuesday, January 6th at 9/8c on ABC.
