It’s been a long while since last we took a trip to the world of the T-800 and the Terminator franchise. However, with time comes reflection, and one of the biggest things the braintrust at the top realized is people time travel and humanity-enslaving robots are two great tastes that taste great together. Luckily, the latest film in the franchise, Terminator Genisys, seeks to not only bring time travel back into the fold, but also shake things up in the world of the Connors, and it all starts with a brand new motion poster that Paramount has just released:
In addition, the studio also revealed the first trailer for Terminator: Genisys will be released this Thursday for all the world to enjoy.
There’s been a lot of talk regarding the all the ways in which the new film will revamp the franchise, starting of course with an aged T-800 that’s apparently been raising Sarah since she was a child after another one of his kind murdered her parents. However, we’re highly intrigued by the idea of taking the franchise in a new direction while still utilizing the core elements that made it the cultural phenomenon that it is today.
It’s been an interesting week for fans of old school, hit franchises with the last few days seeing the release of a new Star Wars and Jurassic World trailer, and now this week with a new Terminator trailer due out on Thursday. Perhaps the only question to ask is, which 70s/80s/90s action franchise will be the next one to get the sequel/reboot treatment?
