From the depths of Comikaze, a brand new superhero is born, the likes of which mankind has never seen before. Each week, Andrew Bowser does the impossible in our ongoing series Origin Story. Over the course of a single weekend, he crowdsources the fantastical backstory to a brand new superhero from people he meets on the convention floor. Then, story in hand, he hands it off to a professional artist who renders an illustration of what this newly-created crimefighter might look like. Armed with concept art, Bowser then meets with a designer who undertakes the seemingly impossible task of creating a costume out of thin air. Yet, somehow Bowser manages to create brand new heroes week after week; hell, we’ll have enough to draft our own Avengers crew pretty soon.
This week, with the aid of everyone from Nightcrawler to Harley Quinn to guest artist Marat Mychaels (Deadpool Corp, Army of Darkness) to cosplayer/designer extraordinaire Jessica LG, Bowser managed to introduce the world (and especially the denizens to a superhero more salubrious than we’ve ever seen. Special guest presenter Lloyd Kaufman (Troma) narrates the incredible saga of the amazing, ineffable hero we now know and love as The Spectacular Willy. The world of superhero cinema will never be the same.
What do you think of The Spectacular Willy? Who would make a good nemesis for such a stalwart superhero? Let us know in the comments below.
