It’s been just over a month since Candace Payne found internet fame in her “Chewbacca Mom” video, which now has over 157 million views. The next stage of her journey is a one-of-a-kind action figure that is now safely in her possession.
Via Entertainment Weekly, it was reported that Payne received a Chewbacca Mom figure from Hasbro Chief Executive Officer Brian Goldner during a visit by Payne and her family to Hasbro’s headquarters. Basically, it’s a Chewbacca figure with a custom-made head that captures Payne’s likeness and it even includes her Chewbacca mask. The Hasbro team went the extra mile by giving the figure 13 unique quotes from Payne’s video, including “That’s not me making that noise, it’s the mask,” “I am such a happy Chewbacca,” and her infectious laugh.
Hasbro also posted a photograph of Payne and the Star Wars action figure that now has her face.

Usually an internet sensation will burn out fairly quickly and people will move on to the next thing. However, Payne’s 15 minutes of fame were extended by her guest appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, which included a skit with Corden and director J.J. Abrams. She definitely showed some charisma there. There are also a few Star Wars fans online who have become vocal detractors of Payne, largely for the many gifts that have been sent her way since her initial video went viral. Not many people will ever have the good fortune that Payne and her family have enjoyed over the last month. But that’s just what it is: good fortune. And so far, she’s been pretty gracious about the entire experience.
Thanks SO much, HASBRO. You literally rolled out the red carpet for me and my family. Thanks for making play so much fun! A photo posted by Candace Payne (@candacepayne) on
