Last month, we brought you a story about Norman Reedus, aka The Walking Dead’s Daryl Dixon, directing a music video out in the desert of California. Reedus met up with young brothers Mikaiah and Anaiah Lei while filming a movie out in Barstow, California. The duo, known as The Bots, are an up-and-coming rock act that offer a mixture of modern bands like The Black Keys and White Stripes with a raw power that is reminiscent of Jimi Hendrix. It seems an apt comparison since the actual video seems to marry the stripped down nature of their music by keeping a lot of the action in a few number of locations, but also plays out like a freakshow acid trip.
Their debut album, Pink Palms, was released back in October from FADER Label. It was hailed as “a mash of frenetic garage rock and lush indie rock,” by the LA Times. The band has also seen praise from Alternative Press and Interview, naming them a band to look out for in the coming year. The boys made their TV premiere on Late Night With Seth Meyers to perform “Blinded.”

To celebrate the release of the video, the song “Blinded” will be available for free on iTunes for the rest of the week. Talking about the video shoot and his collaboration with the band, Reedus was quoted saying, “Love those dudes. They were up for anything and we kinda worked on the fly coming up with things as we went along and they had such good ideas. I’m a fan.”
