Are you still confused about Halo 5′s new Requisition (REQ) system? No worries, Microsoft recruited the manliest of men, Nick Offerman, to explain the basics of the new card-based system. Our mustachioed friend lends his golden vocals to the animated cartoon character, “Mister Chief”. No that’s not a typo, he’s the “trademark avoiding, and copyright tap-dancing” alternative to the most famous Spartan.
Peep the comical short above.
Mr. Offerman does an excellent job of simplifying what may at first seem like a complicated addition to the multiplayer. As a large part of both Arena and Warzone modes, it won’t hurt you to get familiar with the new cards. There’s nothing necessarily new that’s divulged, but it sure makes things seem much more simple.
Here’s what some of what you need to know: points will be earned throughout your multiplayer experience, and those points will go towards new cards that can be activated during a match to give you a slick new weapon, vehicle, or even allow you to change things cosmetically. Mister Chief also reassures fans that adding this new system won’t break the excellent balance players usually enjoy with Halo multiplayer.
Purists have not been too keen on every change coming to this beloved franchise, but it seems like 343 Industries is doing its best to make it their own.
I for one am excited for the future of Chief, and the advances to the whole package. Did this help you understand the REQ system? Do you want more cameos of Mister Chief? Let us know in the comments below.
