Next month, Cinemax is embracing horror with Outcast, a new series based on the comic book by Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead) and Paul Azaceta. While previous trailers for Outcast have played up the show’s creepiness, the latest preview is offering potential fans a better taste of what they can expect.
Entertainment Weekly premiered the new trailer for the series, which finds Kyle Barnes (Patrick Fugit) confronting all manner of demons who already have a name for him: Outcast. For most of his life, Kyle has been plagued by multiple demonic possessions but as an adult, Kyle is attempting to do something about it. He has the weapons and the skills, but as you can see in the new footage, the problem is much more widespread than Kyle previously believed—and the fate of the world may be at stake.
The trailer also features a few glimpses of former Life on Mars star Philip Glenister as Reverend Anderson, Kyle’s unlikely ally against the forces of darkness. The good Reverend is all about fighting evil, but he’s not so hung-up about the no-gambling and no-drinking rules of his chosen profession.
To go with the new trailer, Cinemax has released a new Outcast poster that literally brings Kyle face-to-face with the darkness.
Outcast will have a ten episode first season beginning on Friday, June 3. Cinemax has already renewed Outcast for a second season.
