Although fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe were introduced to Cobie Smulders’ Maria Hill in The Avengers, she’s been a part of Marvel’s comic book world since 2004. Maria Hill also played a major role in Mark Millar and Steve McNiven’s Civil War crossover event; which is the basis for the upcoming film, Captain America: Civil War.
Neither Smulders nor Samuel L. Jackson are officially slated to make an appearance in Captain America: Civil War as Hill or Nick Fury, respectively. But a newly revealed extended scene from Avengers: Age of Ultron seems to hint at a divide in the worldview of Hill and Captain America (Chris Evans). The clip also foreshadows Hawkeye’s big secret from the film.
This extended scene was posted on Tumblr by a user known as luvindowney, and it’s probably from the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron Blu-ray. Last month, Marvel Studios announced that the Avengers: Age of Ultron Blu-ray will be released on Tuesday, October 2 with 45 minutes of extras, including a gag reel, behind-the-scenes featurettes and a few deleted scenes.
Footage of James Spader providing the motion capture for Ultron popped up online last week. And director Joss Whedon has repeatedly said that he was forced to significantly cut down the vision that Thor (Chris Hemsworth) received in the cave, including the much hyped cameo by Tom Hiddleston as Loki. There’s a very good chance that will also be on the Avengers: Age of Ultron Blu-ray.
Marvel fans, do you think that Maria Hill would side with Captain America or Iron Man in the MCU’s Civil War? Whose side are you on?! Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
