In most cases, this wouldn’t be a big surprise: next year we’ll be getting a second season of Marvel’s rather well-received Daredevil series. But when you consider that Netflix also has AKA Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders on their to-do list, it wasn’t a foregone conclusion that Daredevil would continue his solo adventures.
But now it is! According to Marvel.com, we’ll soon be returning to Hell’s Kitchen, although it looks like executive producer Steven DeKnight (Spartacus) will be ceding the reins new show-runners: Doug Petrie (American Horror Story) and Marco Ramirez (Da Vinci’s Demons), both of whom have been with the show from the beginning, so don’t expect a big drop in tone, style, and quality.
Fortunately Mr. DeKnight and Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods) will still be around as executive producers. More on Daredevil‘s second season as it develops. No word yet on which cast members will be returning, but it’s safe to say that Matt, Karen, and Foggy will be back. All we know for sure is that Daredevil will be back next year, and that’s pretty good news, because personally I thought the first season was pretty great.
