Street Fighter V celebrated its release last night with a highly publicized exhibition match between the famous rapper Lupe Fiasco and the legendary Street Fighter pro player Diago Umehara. Though Lupe was trained by various pro-level players for his bout with Umehara, many still didn’t have the hip hop artist coming even close to winning. But in a face off that seemed more like Umehara sandbagging then it did a competitive contest, Lupe proved the world wrong, and went on to win the first exhibition match of the new era of Street Fighter.
The next big “for funs and giggles” SFV happens this week on Nerdist:Play, as I’ll be facing off with Rick Malambri in a high stakes best-of-five showdown. The loser of this face-off has to freestyle dance to Guiles theme. Of course, this shouldn’t be a problem since that song goes good with everything.
Street Fighter V is out today for the PlayStation 4 and PC platforms. Which character are you going to main in your ranked matches? Did you know the voice actor for R. Mika is the same person who voices the U.S. dub for Naruto? Crush the thoughts on this down in the comment section below.
