Nerdist Street Team: SEATTLE

Do you like experiments? I DO. They tend to yield wisdom and, if you’re lucky, an affirmative result to your postulate.

Something that always happens to me is that after I’ve performed in a city, I’ll get tweets or emails from people saying, “When are you coming to [INSERT CITY I WAS JUST IN]?”

I’m not convinced that traditional advertising portals operate with 100 or even 10% efficacy. That has led me to this: I want to form a street team for my show in Seattle on April 10th. The street team would be provided with flyers and would band together to spread the word about this show in clever ways. This is just as much about community-building and loading up the room with friendly, like-minded peeps. Kind of like a massive tweet-up.

Willing Nerdists will receive tix to the show as well as limited edition Nerdist swag and a special post-show hang out. Interested humans should email [email protected] with the subject line “Me! Pick ME!”

I look forward to your involvement. If you’re bored the next couple of weeks and feel like meeting folks while building a thing, then THIS IS YOUR CALLING. It would be arrogant of me to say that this show will be the greatest comedy show in this history of entertainment, but definitely in the last 100 or so years.

Did you get folks to do this? I might just come to the door, I’d love to see you. Safe travels!

  2. Veronika says:

Hope to be a part of this! I just sent an email and look forward to hearing back. I want to make people yern to come to your show in subliminal ways….

  3. Lisa says:

I would just work your show/you in to my usual “what are you two having tonight” spiel. I am a waitress at a popular japanese restaurant in Belltown. Then I would get them drunk on Shochu and your audience will increase 20 fold. How do you feel about drunk Asians?

  4. Ainslee Lara says:

I sent an email, but haven’t heard from you.

Would still love to help out.

    🙂 Ainslee

    Dear Senor Hardwick,

This has nothing to do with the above post, however, I think you should consider creating some additional Nerdist merch. I would purchase a Nerdimals tee instantly, or even a tee that proclaims NERDIST, WHERE ITS AT, because this is indeed, where its at.

    Please consider,

  6. Ashley says:

Come to Des Moines, Iowa and I’ll be a part of a street team!!!!

  7. Deltus says:

Interesting to see how this pans out. If your show is more packed, or packed with an audience that “gets it” better than usual, this will be a success.

  8. Dave says:

Were the X-Men just a street team for Doc X?

  9. Euan says:

Excelsior eigh? thats like the nerdiest sign off line ever. but also a good idea, more ads like this will bring in hipper and a more interested crowd… good show.
