It was the face that launched a thousand tweets. And it had “~damaged~” smeared right across its forehead.
When Jared Leto’s first promotional image as the Joker from director David Ayers’ upcoming Suicide Squad hit the Internet, people went ballistic. Most folks seemed genuinely excited to see the Academy Award winner/30 Seconds to Mars frontman’s interpretation of the most iconic character in Batman’s rogues gallery. However, that image — with all its self-referential tattoos and a Paul Wall-worthy grill — had many raising an eyebrow in disbelief. It also launched a marked uptick in people taking to comment sections across the land with the sole purpose of saying, “Oh man, this is gonna suck.”
But will it?

Because who needs context when you have the court of public opinion?
Of course, we could always be wrong and this could be exactly the movie we’re getting. We’ll find out after Warner Bros.’ panel at San Diego Comic-Con…
