Nerdist Podcast Wins Stitcher Award. Huzzah!

Well, whaddya know, the Nerdist Podcast won an award last night.

Our flagship podcast won the Best Comedy category at the 2012 Stitcher Awards, handed out in San Francisco. Nerdist edged out some strong competition, including The Joe Rogan Experience, Your Mom’s House, WTF with Marc Maron (Marc hosted the awards ceremony), Smodcast, and The Adam Carolla Show. Nice. Also, our Dining With Doug and Karen was a runner-up for Best Food and Cooking, and The Indoor Kids was a runner-up for Best Games and Hobbies (they lost to Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me, and I’m not sure how they ended up in the same category (is a game show really in the same category as a video game show?), although how cool would it be to play video games with Carl Kasell?). Oh, and the Nerdist podcast was a runner-up (to Smodcast’s Tell ‘Em Steve-Dave!) for Best Entertainment and Pop Culture. Can’t win ’em all.

Anyway, the whole list of winners can be found by clicking here. The awards were based on a combination of ranking on Stitcher and listener votes, so thanks to all of you who voted….

Tell’em Steve-Dave! The TESD army strikes again!
Oh, and congrats Nerdist. I did vote for you too.

  3. There was a thing with Stitcher back in the day. But that has been resolved for a while now. *and there was much rejoicing, rah*

Congratulations to everyone who works very hard to make the Nerdist podcast happen! I’m not sure if people realize how much goes into producing a quality podcast! Give yourselves a nice big hug and a high five from me!

Congrats and well deserved. But didn’t you guys have a beef with Stitcher way back in early Nerdist days? Nice to see it squashed if so.

  5. Patty Marvel says:

Well done, Team Nerdist! And I’m familiar with the quality of the other winners (check out WNYC’s Radiolab sometime), so you’re in some darned good company.

  6. Adam says:

Way to go guys! you rock!
