This is one of the episodes that make me yearn for show notes – I’m going to have to listen again (darn) just so I can write down all the covers I need to go find on the interweb…

  2. Angelica1771 says:

This podcast was so enjoyable, I could just listen to it over and over. XD I really wish you guys would have another one with T&S where you could continue the discussion towards the end!

  3. cooser says:

Wow, one of the best podcasts I’ve ever heard from here. Adding my voice to those requesting a part 2. The chemistry is great, banter hilarious, and the topics were utterly fascinating! You must have these two back on the show and I obviously need to listen to their stuff.

  4. Early in this podcast you mention eating at the Hollywood Bowl, and how that is more appropriate for orchestras because it’s more “background music”. I have to urge you to find an active appreciation for all types of music, and not reduce the classical genre to “background music”.

I do enjoy the podcast, though – it helps me on my bi-weekly 11 hour drives between Detroit and Memphis. I look forward to hearing more of your past shows. The one with Alison Brie was hilarious!!!

  5. Danimal says:

Love these ladies. I want to add my voice to those requesting a second T&S interview. I saw them at the performance at the Greek that they are referencing at the beginning and they were AMAZING as always. God, so funny and charming on stage in addition to making great music. Always a treat.

  6. Justin says:

Wow, one of my favorite episodes ever. I would have loved for this to have been twice as long. You need to get these girls back on the show to pick up where you had to leave off!

  7. Steve S says:

Wow… they are really fucking cool

  8. Frank mint says:

I think this is one of my favorite episodes! Keep putting out work- great motto.

  9. olivia says:

wow. this is so good. this suits t&s’ banter that they do so naturally, so well! so so happy the whole time listening to this!

  10. Alec says:

I will only support those music video concepts if they also feature the Muppets.

  11. mayselc says:

Tegan & Sara have taken up a large chunk of my ear space for the last seven years or so. Such great songwriters and live performers. They could release an album of there pithy stage chat alone!

And I got major hetero cred for introducing my sister and her wife to T&S as well.

Great interview! Now let’s get cracking on those music video ideas.

  12. Oxnard Montalvo says:

    Good interview. So much Oat-rage.

  13. Gary Banach says:

I don’t think I can say that I have ever heard a Tegan and Sara song, but being a male hetero married guitarist/vocalist/songwriter who works with a female vocalist who is bisexual, I’ve tried to open my world to more than just the ‘average white guy” stuff. She is billed as “Country Rock” but we cover everything from Pink and Cee-Lo to Whitesnake and Aerosmith, and her originals have country, pop, rock, even metal under and overtones. Sounds a lot like what these two ladies are doing, so I will be grabbing their entire catalog, as I feel I’ve been missing a great duo. Super interview, I am a brand new “Nerdist” listener and am completely addicted.

  14. yay! says:

grew up outside kingston, lived there while going to college, consider it my home and stunned to listen to you talk about it during the interview!! tegan and sara did such a great job!!

  15. Tyler says:

Jonah’s laugh around 57:30 about the love affair was awesome. You should put that in the bank for later fix-Jonah-in-post episodes.

  16. Kevin says:

I never listen to podcasts but this was soooo worth it.

  17. Lauren says:

i could listen to them talk all day.

  18. Stafford says:

damn it, this is one of those podcasts where out of left field it makes me want to be a more compassionate human being.

  19. David says:

Enjoyed the episode a lot! Great chemistry between all of you.

  20. Erin says:

I LOVE these ladies!! This was such an amazing podcast, and their latest record is honestly one of my favorites of all time by ANYONE! The songs never get old and every single one is a gem! Thank you so much for having these super talented, smart, strong women on the show!

  21. Jennifer says:

LOVED THIS, Tegan and Sara are such genuine artists. I would love to listen to a part 2 of this!

  22. Adrienne says:

Love them and love this interview! I’ve always enjoyed their personable personalities when seeing them live.

  23. Tyler says:

I haven’t listened to a second of this, but I’m super excited about it. Also, I can’t stop thinking about the NOFX song that’s mostly-vaguely about Tegan & Sara: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDQZQMuahtg

  24. Merel says:

Absolutely love this interview and Tegan & Sara! And I actually think Jim Morisson was a great artist and poet.

  25. M says:

The “Prison is Not a Joke” is my favorite on-going joke by T&S and Emy Storey. Haha. :)

  26. Crandif says:

Sorry, still laughing my ass off when thinking about the x rated hypnotist reference from 2 podcasts ago…funniest thing Chris has ever uttered! ” You are now a chicken…”

  27. SJ gallagher says:

Dude your an great interviewer , this has to be one of the most interesting podcast I have listened to. It’s more conversational banter than an interview.

  28. @Clay_57 says:

I honestly have no idea who Tegan and Sara are, but this was a great interview. I’d actually like it if you had them back to continue the discussion you were having towards the close of their interview.
