  1. poiboy says:

this woman is just wonderful.  such talent.

  2. Sarah says:

She sounded so self righteous and egotistical. I agree with a previous post on the fact that she wasn’t giving much to Chris for most of the interview, and I felt bad for him.

  3. Cara says:

Funny, I have been meaning to comment and ask that Kyle & Katie get mikes that let us hear their input. I know that they have stuff to contribute and it drives me nuts not to hear their end of the conversation when the boys talk to them. Like when Katie looks something up on the Interweb, but we don’t really hear what she’s found.
That said, I’m sure Kyle laughing on mike would be more distracting, so maybe it kicks in for convo and lets the laughter add flavor to the background.
Laughter – keeping it informal since the beginning

  4. UnfunPete says:

I feel like she really didn’t give a shit about this interview around the end of it. Her stand up is really funny but I felt bad for Chris around the the end of the interview. She didn’t really seem to be giving much back.

  5. Gonna disagree with those above: I love that Kyle bursts out with loud laughter every now and then, sort of makes me laugh with him. Since when did fans of the Nerdist become so precious? Does everything have to be ‘just so’?

  6. Paul Rueon says:

Yea, it gets me too. People bitch about Kyle a lot, but it’s less Kyle and more just hearing a disembodied laugh that’s not part of the conversation come out of nowhere… kinda unsettling, & grabs your attention, like there’s been a person lurking in the shadows the whole time you weren’t aware of. …even though we know he’s there by now. Just kind of feels… like… stalky, somehow.

  7. Dave says:

His laughing, not him. Sorry about that.

  8. Dave says:

Whoops! It’s his LAUGHING that bothers me, not him! Omitting that word totally changed the post.

  9. Dave says:

    Hey Nerdists,

I’m a really big fan. Just a bit of constructive criticism. I find that the person (Kyle?) in the background really pulls the intimacy out of the interviews. I listened religiously a couple of years ago and recently started getting new episodes and it’s been bothering me. Just one man’s opinion, it really pulls me out of the experience.

    Love the show,

  10. Petey says:

Interesting. Thank you for introducing me to this comedienne.

But… whaaa.. is happening in this thread?

  11. Paul says:

These comedy-centric episodes are my favorites. Great episode.

  12. Jeff says:

I kept picturing Tig Notaro in my head when she talked. Am I the only one?

  13. Shia Labeouf says:

    @Joseph Young

I want to apologize specifically to everyone in the Jewish community for the vitriolic and harmful words that I said to a law-enforcement officer the night I was arrested on a DUI charge.

  14. Joseph Young says:

But are you really sorry Shia? …truly?

  15. CodyH says:

Awesome, have been wanting her on the show for ages.

  16. Lauracondi says:

AWWW The sea turtles analogy :(

  17. Weebee says:

I wish you would have asked whether or not pushing smoke demons out of a vagina requires special skills or if any red headed lady can do it. Although after having listened to this podcast I’m pretty sure Morgan could squeeze one out if she wanted to.

GOT gives my dick retard strength boners. Back in April! Weeeee

    Good podcast today btw.

  18. Shia Labeouf says:

Yay! Watched Irish Goodbye on Netflix just last night! It was awesome. Gonna buy the album from itunes later today.
