  1. Ashlee says:

Such an amazing show live! I’m the quempliments girl and I’m super excited I was on the podcast, but so embarrassed at how much I nerded out. You can actually hear the nervous quaver in my voice! Also embarrassed that Chris asked me my name, I misheard him and thought he wanted to know my question which I’d never gotten to. So…my name is Ashlee! I’m sorry for laughing in Chris’ face! He’s the sweetest and best nerd.
Go see the podcast live any chance you can because it was AWESOME.

  2. Wicked says:

Where can I see picture of the Dr Who windchime???

  3. Jackson says:

    It’s Teen Jesus everyone!

    L.A. Lights.

  4. Jack Brown says:

Such a good time, somehow all three of them together were way more fun than Chris, MIra and Jonah via the phone which we got in Royal Oak last year. How does one find the animal costumes (i’m so totally not willing to try to spell that word….” online?

  5. Patty Marvel says:

BTW, the “nondenominational” Christian church comment somehow reminded me of this line from “The Blues Brothers”:

“We play BOTH kinds of music – Country AND Western!”

  6. “It’s Juh-juh-juh-juh-Jesus!”

I really do love these live shows.

  7. s1yfox says:

this show was tons of fun! I hope the Anaheim show will be just as fun!

  8. boB says:

Another nugget for those who were there: “Don’t just stand there, help our son!” bwahahahahaha…

  9. DaveTheBouncer says:

@Three Toes of Fury Thanks buddy, it gets a laugh every time.

  10. Alex says:

Finally! A live podcast I WAS AT! Loved the show. I know this was before the recorded podcast portion, but Chris comes out in a costume and calls himself a 12 year old, I thought my wife was going to piss her pants from laughter. If the podcast comes anywhere near you, GO!

  11. @PattyMarvel, I am always up for some Team Matt love, but I actually thought to myself: “Jonah is on FIRE, tonight!” With slamdunk lines like:

“It’s crazy that, like with all the Christian religions, it’s like Mexican food: It’s all the same ingredients, it’s just in different orders.”

“Sometimes, we dig a nerdhole that even WE can’t get out of!”

GrandRapidists were clearly lovin’ them some Jonah!

  12. Krystin says:

I second that West Virginia guy! There are nerds in southern Ohio! Come to Cincinnati you ninnies!

  13. Raulie Huevos says:

Argentinians rarely, if ever self identify as Latino. Just sayin’.

  14. Patty Marvel says:

Matt Mira = “Yo, yo, yo! Call me when your titties is done!”

Big Papa has been on farking FIRE since he was shit canned from AOTS! Keep it up, Boo!

  15. Heather says:

Guys, we loved having you in this Freezing Fuckhole of Ass Juice and hope you consider returning for Laugh Fest next year. We can’t promise better weather, but we have an ungodly number of churches in the area you can defile. See what I did there?

FYI Chris, I also turned 41 in November (the same day you did, I believe) and have a hard time with the whole George Jetson thing. After re-watching Clueless recently, I was also horrified to realize Wallace Shawn’s Mr. Hall was a mere six years older than I am now. Just fucking kill me now.

  16. Three Toes of Fury says:

@dave-the-bouncer: Sweet-Gravy Thats a [email protected] Tattoo! I dig it!

  17. Three Toes of Fury says:

dudes..this one was a HOOT! jam-packed with hilarious riffs. Might be the first time ive heard “Cats in the Cradle” and didnt break down weaping like a little kid with a skinned knee (#songs-that-make-me-cry). And the Chair-bit?!? brilliant!

Thanks C-M-J for sharing your road gigs with the masses!

    Peace & Riffs

  18. Commander Rab says:

  19. Katie Rakoczy says:

Oh sorry also wanted to say that this was really funny and thank you for braving michigan, even if GR is too far for me to see you guys again.

  20. Katie Rakoczy says:

I too am sad that my live show was never aired on the podcast. I understand why but I still selfishly want to relive it. It was like an amazing concert; I had such a great time that I can’t really remember it! Maybe someday you could release the vault on the website somewhere?
Also, there is No Way that us michiganders actually like the snow and cold. We bitch about it all the time:-P

  21. Jennifer says:

Ugh I was hoping you wouldn’t keep the questions at the end. I totally bombed mine. I was nerding out too much with Chris in front of me! Lol. Was a great show though Chris. πŸ™‚ Glad I could finally meet you and all that. If anyone wants to see pics of the show including the boombox and choir robe in all it’s glory check out my album

  22. Sheldon J says:

    Good show. Thanks.

  23. LucasMPhoto says:

Had to miss this for the birth of my son on Pi Day. Oh well, win some lose some πŸ˜€

  24. DaveTheBouncer says:

I loved going to this show. Had been looking forward to it for months and it surpassed every possible expectation. So cool.

  25. IBeBeffer says:

  26. Smitty says:

Please tell me you visited The Geek Group while you were in GR…

I can’t even begin to describe them in this tiny little text box… Worlds Largest Hacker Space just doesn’t cover it.

Please do a YouTube look up for The Geek Group: Thumper, Ring Launcher, Tosser, Tesla Coil, Autopsy ect. This might help too:

They built a machine that crushes quarters with electromagnetism. Yup. Really.

  27. B26R says:

@Bob Big foot the series….. no messing around with foreplay

  28. Aj says:

“He would give me heart PAPALtations”
Pun of the fucking night, right there folks.

  29. Leonard Sultana says:

See this bloody long URL? Well. if you use that there Google+, that where you’ll keep up to date with the latest podcasts, as well as shits and giggles all about World Nerdist…

  30. Forrest says:

“Part-time Fun” just broke me at work. I had to use a break for the time it took to recover.

  31. Chris Hardwick says:

@Damon: a fair question! The problem is that many of those shows were so long because we were still figuring out the live format that I feel they’re too long to post. In other cases, some of the content was too referential of the experience and I think is more of “you just had to be there” kind of shows. We’ve streamlined quite a bit so it shouldn’t be a problem anymore. If you were at the live show, consider it special! And thanks!!

  32. Drarry says:

This made me laugh…speaking of tragedies my community had a bad one but nobody knows about it as we got a new pope that day. Needed the laugh. I don’t know if I’m ever getting past the image of Chris in a 3 way with diarrhea.

  33. Wildride says:

If you wanna Dobler a girl in this day and age, you have to include an element of irony, so …

  34. Bopper says:

Jane Jetson is 33, and she has a 16 year old daughter…

  35. Clay says:

DAMMIT! I am so mad at myself for missing this I am from GR…unacceptable. I will try to catch you next time you’re in Chicago this summer/fall.

  36. Damon says:

How about you post all the live episodes from last year that are sitting around in the vault, collecting dust, before you release any new ones?

  37. boB says:

For those who were at this podcast: “And now, on this installment of the ‘Matt Mira Book Club’…” πŸ™‚
