Nerdist Podcast Nerdist Podcast: Jesse Thorn Posted by Katie Levine on June 5, 2013 Share: Twitter Facebook Google+ Reddit Email Jesse Thorn stops by to talk about his start in the broadcasting world, his love of miniature donkeys and secret sex parties! Check out Jesse’s network Maximum Fun! Tags jesse thorn, nerdist Comments LJ says: June 10, 2013 at 5:56 pm I am dumb. After listening to The Sound of Young America (now Bullseye) semi-regularly for years, I had no idea Jesse was so young. I do remember wondering why the old guy was hosting the a show about Young America. He’s got that grown man voice thing going for him. I guess I just never had the urge to Bing a picture of him. But, great episode. Forget a Matt and Jonah sitcom, I’d pay to see Jonah and Jesse in a Real World-style house for a week. smartbunny says: June 9, 2013 at 4:41 pm Been a MaxFun supporter for a decade now. I first heard Hard n’ Phirm on JJGO back in – I wanna say – 2006? I knew Chris already but not Mike. Blew me away. (I just knew Jordan got mad nerdgirl tail at MaxFunCons. Good for him.) craigo says: June 7, 2013 at 7:32 pm Podcast Titans Unite!! Nerdist & Maximum Fun are my favorite podcast Empires. I could listened to Chris, Jonah and Jesse banter for hours and not get bored. These guys were on m fire. Comedy gold. The only people missing were Matt & Jordan! roninmoka says: June 7, 2013 at 11:14 am You guys now have to have Jordan Morris on. He too was on a network that got canned FUELtv (like G4tv). JetpackBlues says: June 7, 2013 at 5:09 am @Clay_57: Kigurumi. 着ぐるみ. You’re looking for the fursuit, not the Doller type. Ugh, listen to a BETTER podcast than the Nerdist? I don’t think I can do that. My bandwidth and time are pretty tight as it is. Well alright, if it’s THAT good I’m sure I can edge out something I don’t keep up with anymore…. Richard Altman says: June 7, 2013 at 2:27 am Jessie Thorn is the Dick Cavett of podcasting, he’s up there with Leo Laporte for what you hear is what you get. He’s smart, he’s interesting and let’s face it, pretty much everybody in the ‘game’ (too funny, though Jessie’s Killer Mike interview is among the finest interviews anywhere from anyone) owes this man a cultural debt of gratitude. I haven’t even listened to it yet. To recap, everyone doing this shtickt of online discourse should have a link to Maximum Fun hidden on their site, like what Wired did with McLuhan in the 90s, too bad none of you have a Clue In to what I mean. Thanks for the content. @Clay_57 says: June 6, 2013 at 7:15 pm Just wanted to tell you I caught your show in DC at the 9:30 Club and you were awesome. BTW, what were those pajama things you and Chloe were wearing when the delivery guy came? Couldn’t hear you in the back. Zac says: June 6, 2013 at 3:13 pm Yes, Maximum Fun! JJGo was one of my first podcasts. Every week is filled with hilarious stories, amazing guests, and a wonderful outlook. Jordan and Jesse have known each other for a decade and their repartee is fluid and comfortable. It’s like informal improv. David says: June 6, 2013 at 2:46 pm Yea, if you liked this, you really should check out Jordan Jesse Go! And the other podcasts over at the Maximum Fun Network. JJGo was also my first podcast. Then things just added up and there’s Stop Podcasting Yourself, MBMBAM, Throwing Shade, RISK!, and more. The podcasts from MaxFun and Nerdist are just the best! Magus says: June 6, 2013 at 1:03 pm His voice puts me in such a happy place. Talk about a voice for radio! Chris says: June 6, 2013 at 11:31 am @Andrew, if you liked that you’ve got years of Jordan Jesse Go archives ahead of you – JJGo was my first podcast and it, as well as the amazingly heartfelt Bullseye, is still great. Ian says: June 6, 2013 at 10:07 am So, from this picture, he looks like a very skinny Mira Brendan says: June 6, 2013 at 9:08 am Ahh! My Nerdist and MaxFun worlds collide!
