Nerdist Podcast: Jennifer Morrison

The talented Jennifer Morrison chats with Chris and Jonah about growing up without watching iconic movies, how fans treat her differently based on her characters from House and Once Upon A Time, and the short film she just directed!

Watch the season finale of Once Upon A Time this Sunday, May 11th!

  1. Just adore Jennifer, such a cool and talented woman. And she thought up the Chewbacca guestbook too. Is there no end to her awesomeness? Great podcast, really loved it. Only problem is that now I REALLY want to go to Disney Land. Sounds so goddamn awesome

  2. Carlos Perez says:

Can I recommend putting numbers back on the podcast names?

  3. Sarah says:

Her laugh is so contagious, I couldn’t stop laughing throughout this whole podcast. I just love her so much.

  4. Ryan_boss says:

What a fun girl, surprisingly so! I loved her in House, and watched part of the first season of Once. I might have to catch up to see what she’s been up to. I love when you guys star ladies on here 😉

  5. Lamech says:

Wait, you have two comedians in the room talking about a Chewbacca guest book and no one thought of calling it a “Wookie Bookie?” (Or perhaps they thought about it for a second and went, “Nah. Too silly.”)

  6. Stephen says:

This was a great podcast. By the way, like Chris said, I’ve always felt like I was going to be decapitated whenever I ride Space Mountain. Actually, the first time I saw Star Wars, there were a few shots where the Millennium Falcon flies right into the screen; I always thought that it was going to take my head off.

  7. Jims says:

Please make the Chewy Guest Book happen!  Start one every year and auction it off for charity: mad props to Jonah for that idea.

  8. Bob says:

FWIW, I always say that having kids is the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done, but raising them is also the hardest thing I’ve ever done.

  9. phantombread says:

Her dad is literally the best.

  10. Arabrabbra says:

Have to agree …. cant stand the new layout. Not trying to be negative. Its just WHEW way to much info hard to navigate, … The infographics are too much. The old design was hard enough, I feel like im on an acid trip with the new one. Even posting this comment! The fields dont say what they are for. Which is name which is email…AHH! PS LOVE YOU CHRIS and Nerdist its all free content. This is meant to be constructive. Not trolling. Enjoy your day and burrito!

  11. eric says:

chrome is blocking the podcast player, and now it won’t let me download it

  12. Jennifer Morrison was very good in last night’s season finale – almost surprisingly so.

  13. Danielle says:

I really don’t like the new layout of I’m not trying to be mean. You say this is in beta, so I hope you don’t mind a little criticism. I liked the old layout because it was far easier to navigate to get to the *individual* episode lists of each podcast. And then, once I’d reached an episode list, the page would show a descending list of episodes, with an image/artwork above a short blurb description of each episode. That was very easy to navigate and easy to keep track of new and old episodes. Meanwhile, in this new site layout, every podcast has apparently been consolidated into one list at this page:, with a table of thumbnail links to individual episodes. I can’t find any episode lists for individual podcasts. The site’s new way of organizing seems to be jumbled and disorderly. I can’t tell if I’ve missed any episodes of my favorite podcasts, which worries me, because I don’t want to inadvertently miss episodes.
Everything on the site seems to be smooshed together now, and the images take up a lot of space on the pages. I feel like I’m looking at the mobile version of the site, but I’m on my laptop, viewing the site in Chrome.
I wish I had more positive feedback to give. I do love the content you all produce, which is why I’m feeling so frustrated right now by how hard it suddenly is to find that content on your site.

    • Michael Thompson says:

If you go to the ‘full list’ at the bottom of the podcast page you’re talking about, you can pick an individual podcast and get sequential episodes like you could before.  I agree though that it was much easier to reach the end point with the old layout.

  14. dana says:

ah, nothing better than a disney discussion! <3

  15. Carl.P says:

Amazing woman, my god. Jennifer is literally Girlfriend material. Good actress, great body, damn funny and nerdy too? What more could we ask for, guys?!

  16. Dom De Niro says:

I don’t want to be this person…..scarface is 1983 not 70s…….sorry iam that sort of person.

  17. Victor says:

Yay! Another Nerdist episode that I’m so excited to listen to that I’m just going to stop and take an hour to listen, and anytime I am able to do that with this podcast is just a really fantastic hour long escape, so thanks!

  18. spacie says:

Yay!  I love it when you have not-white-male-comics on!  (Though I love white male comics too, of course, just like to mix it up!)

  19. NotMF says:

J Mo’s Chewbacca impression is so good, love it, haha

  20. Sarah88 says:

Great interview. Such a fun listen. I’m in love with Morrison’s laugh.

  21. Petey says:

Prettiest woman on TV.Refreshing to hear she’s a cool person too.

  22. J.J. says:

Thurl Ravenscroft actually did the original voice track for the Haunted Mansion, but his recording has since been replaced. But you can still hear his voice doing the announcements for Disneyland Limited Railroad on Main Street and all the other stops along the way. He also recorded “Grim Grinning Ghosts” with the original Dapper Dans, which is the song that plays in the graveyard scene.Disney released a book that covers the history of the ride at each of the parks around the world, including the rationale for which land each version is located in, after the movie came out. There’s also one for Pirates of the Caribbean. And I don’t know about Tomorrowland in the Anaheim park, but rumors leaked on the internet indicate that WDW in Florida might have an entire Star Wars based park within a few years.

    • BassBone says:

Actually, Paul Frees was always the main narrator for the Haunted Mansion. Also, the voices for the singing busts are the Mellowmen, Thurl Ravenscroft’s regular singing group.

  23. Paul says:

I’ve been a big fan of Jennifer Morrison since, well, a while, glad to hear her here. She’s a talented and lovely woman.

  24. BassBone says:

*puts on Disnerd hat* The narrator of the Haunted Mansion is Paul Frees, one of the best voiceover artists in history. The other guy you were thinking of, Thurl Ravenscroft, is also in the Haunted Mansion as the bass voice of the singing busts. Thurl also sang “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” and was the original voice of Tony the Tiger.
Also, the reason for the massive lines at Peter Pan is because the ride has very low capacity. As the line gets longer because of the capacity issues, people think, “That line’s long, it must be a great ride,” and the line continues getting longer.
Sorry for the mini Disneyland history lesson. That’s one of my main vectors of nerdery.
